The Research On Qian Xuesen's Engineering Management Thoughts

As a world-level scientist, Qian Xuesen has made great contributions to thehuman scientific progress cause; as a founder of the engineering control theory, he haswon the world's respect for Chinese nation; as a leader of the Chinese technologydevelopment, he pushed the Chinese missiles, rockets, and astronautics cause into ahigh ratio of development. First, this thesis makes a general introduction of QianXuesen, mainly on his contribution to the area of engineering management, especiallythe modern scientific technology system he has built from the system angle. Then,from the angle of engineering technology discipline and the engineering designdiscipline, by analyzing the engineering construction condition in our country, thisthesis points out the limitedness of sources and environment and the challenges ofengineering management levels, etc. to the engineering management, further revealsthe great theories and practical significance of his engineering management thoughts.In the meantime, the thesis also demonstrates me the author's research method,research ways of thinking adopted in studying Qian Xuesen's engineeringmanagement thoughts, and my innovation when writing this thesis.Qian Xuesen, who has made great contributions in many areas or participated inmany constructions in numerous areas, has left us a great many of valuable works andthese. On analyzing his works and these related to engineering management thoughts,and the basis of other scholars' researches on his thoughts, I have definitely admiredtheir great values on studying Qian Xuesen's thoughts. Hovcever, on careful reading, Ihave found that the present available research on Qian's thoughts mainly in theory,seldom referring to the essence of it, that is connect Qian Xuesen's thoughts with the engineering practice. And that is from here, I finally found the point to cut into theresearch on Qian Xuesen's engineering management thoughts.From the engineering technology to the scientific theory, Qian Xuesen hasshown his abundant thoughts on engineering management in his-thoughts system, theshaping of which has an affinity to his education he has received from the childhood,and his interests. I, from the education he has received both at home and abroad, dealwith the forming and development of his thoughts. Then, on the basis of analyzing histechnology and scientific thoughts and modern scientific system's Longitudinalstructure which builds his engineering management thoughts system, I introduce hismain thoughts, including control thoughts, system thoughts, complexity thoughts,great wisdom thoughts, scientific management thoughts as well as the similarity ofgeography thoughts and so on.There are hidden a great academic and practical usage values in Qian Xuesen'sengineering management thoughts from his thoughts systems. From their function inthe discipline development, their theoretical values are revealed; from theirapplication to the engineering management, their practical values are revealed bypointing to how the engineering management thoughts and engineering practiceconnect. On the shaping of Qian's engineering management thoughts, the disciplineoverlapping method-the synthesis integration method has played a great role. Thethesis mainly analyzes Qian Xuesen's great charm as a scholar, his adaptation to thetrend of time and development which enables him finally form the synthesisintegration method, a scientific research method.From the foundation of the engineering control theory to the system science,from proposing the complex research peculiar in Chinese to the great wisdom projectof "wisdom accomplished by collection, from the scientific management, in thesystem engineering to the new trend of similarity thoughts—the similarity ofgeography. On the basis of understanding of Qian Xuesen's engineering managementthoughts, I have pointed out my views on them, mainly from the way of their formingand development. At the end of this thesis, there are general conclusion of Qian'sengineering management thoughts and the thoughts' prospects. Also, I have pointed out my shortage in my research and where I should further develop.
