Telecommunication is already infrastructural, strategical and pivotal industry around the world. Although Chinese telecommunication has reformed several times, the outcome is unobvious. Next and further the reformation of market structure is still one of most important measures adopted.This paper, firstly, sums up the classical market structure theories of industry organization. According to three criterions, the market is classified four forms of structure. The structure actually means competition degree, so"degree"is the sticking point. Secondly, the market sturcture is depicted from compatibility theories. Network effects is the base of study on network industry, and network size is a dimension of product differentiation. Thirdly, technical and economic characters are described. With the development of technology and social requirement, network effects is more outstanding, and the telecommunication competition is more drastic. Fourly, based on the point that the network effects is the dimension of vertical differentiation, this paper analyzes the market structure under the condition of compatibility or incompatibility by the game and the data simulation, and concretely parses network strength coefficient and product self-value coefficient. The results show that under network compatibility, the increase in the number of competitors, network strength or product self-value is effective rival measure. Such illuminats that the universal compatible market makes for to shape competition mechanism, promote effective competition, and improve customer surplus and social welfare. Lastly, from the history of Chinese telecommunication industry, this paper makes demonstration analysis about Chinese telecommunication structure, finds interconnection problem, and suggests the information direction.In conclusion, in order to achieve effective competition, accelerating compatibility and interconnection is the key role of Chinese telecommunication information and regulation.
