Studies On Land Use And Land Cover Change Based On GIS

Land use and land cover change is one of the most important components and major causes to global environmental changes, and studies on it has been the frontier all the while after entering the new millennium. At present, the researches on LUCC mainly focus on class system, dynamic monitoring, environment impact assessment and also on the driving factors of LUCC and the space-time structure evolvement. However, the survey of space-time structure evolvement based on GIS is still being explored. Especially, the analysis of space-time evolvement rules of host area in county scale is few, which is just the core of this paper. In this paper, Pengzhou was selected as the research area for its fast development of economy, intense human activities and the obvious land use change. Then, the LUCC change and the driving force which resulted in those changes were discussed. This study will make great sense to economy and society sustainable development and provide the similar area or the national and global land use research with an example.According to "Land Use Database Criteria for Country Area", the land use spatial databases of this research area of 1992 and 2003 were set up based on massive datum by GIS technology.
