Research On Knowledge Management Technology For Ornaments Innovation Design

Combined with the project of Science and Technology Plan of Zhejiang Province-Research on the Integration Management Platform of Ornaments Innovation Design based on Knowledge and its Application in Ornament Industry, the thesis puts the study emphasis on the construction and application of the ornaments repository to support the innovation design according to the characteristic of the ornament industry. The thesis analyses the requirements for knowledge management and ornaments repository which support the innovation design based upon the knowledge management actuality in ornament industry. Then a solution for the construction and application of ornament repository is proposed for the purpose of realizing ornaments innovation design.In the first chapter, the characteristic and actuality of knowledge management in ornament industry are introduced. Then the thesis probes into the importance and impendency to construct a knowledge management system for the ornament industry. After that, the repository and correlative key technologies are studied, which support the ornaments innovation design. Finally, the background, meaning and main work of the paper are presented.Chapter two, starting from the conventional design process, the bottlenecks blocking the products design are analyzed. After that the designers' design process and thinking method are discussed in order to provide suited support in the future. The thesis puts the emphasis on the requirement for knowledge management from many aspects, such as knowledge acquisition, knowledge classification and knowledge utilization based on the problems existed in actual application.Chapter three aiming at the construction and application of ornaments repository probes into the correlative key technologies. Firstly, a mapping between the subjective evaluation and the design elements of the ornaments is established by experimentation. Then the thesis puts forward a method for design knowledge representation on the basis of frame and this method can fit the characteristic of ornament knowledge well. Finally the ornament knowledge retrieval technology is studied for its application.In the fourth chapter, according to the research in former chapters, combined the knowledge management system for an ornament company we developed, the case is analyzed and the solution for it is presented.The last chapter summarizes the study contents of the paper, and introduces the achievements and insufficiencies of the paper. Also the future research work is suggested.
