Evaluation Of Intensive Land Use In Loess Plateau

As the scarce and essential non-renewable resource, land is the material basis of human survival, which is the main objectives of land use planning,protection and control in national countries. Based on the basic national conditions, so "cherish every inch of land ", economical and intensive utilization of land resources are the obvious choices to promote regional sustainable development and change the land use style from inefficient to intensive and efficient.Based on the results of intensive land use from home and abroad, this paper in-depthly analyzes the nature,socio-economic and land use status in Tianshui city. The article constructed the total target layer by economical and intensive use of urban land, created a criterion level of economical and intensive land-use of agricultural and construction land use, the sub-criteria layer which based on the land use intensity, land use efficiency, land use structure and layout and land use trends, including 34 index layers as comprehensive evaluation index system of the regional economical and intensive land utilization. The entropy was used to evaluate the overall level of economical and intensive use of land and the dynamic changes, then used the factor analysis to evaluate the space difference between agricultural and construction economical and intensive land use in Tianshui.The evaluation results showed: the overall level of status evaluation in Tianshui city is 0.7216, which is a low degree of over-exploitation phase. The economical and intensive land use level between agricultural and construction land is not so significant, the intensive level of agricultural land is 0.7443 and the construction land is 0.6984, both of them have reached to the low stage of excessive use; besides, construction land has already closed to the moderate economical and intensive utilization stage. Concerned to sub-criteria level, the land use intensity index was the highest(0.1973) and the index of land use structure and layout was the lowest(0.1035), land use structure and layout should be further optimized.The dynamic change analysis on economical and intensive land use in Tianshui city showed: from 1999 to 2008, comprehensive level of economical and intensive land use kept improving, the comprehensive value of agricultural and construction land have increased significantly, and construction land got faster. Land input intensity index and land use efficiency index took a significant ascendant trend, the same as land use intensity index and land development trends index, but the latter two changed not so obvious. However, land use structure and layout showed slow decline.Through the spatial analysis on economical and intensive land use in Tianshui city, the results showed: regional differences are obvious in the north part, Qinan and Gangu Counties got a high level of economical and intensive land use, while the eastern part of Maiji, Qinshui and Zhangjiachuan Counties got a low level. There is a big spatial difference of economical and intensive construction land use, so it is necessary to explore the potential of land use because a gap between Qinzhou county (0.96) and Qinan county(-0.58) is so significant.Combined with the actual situation of land use in Tianshui, the paper finally puts forward some countermeasures and suggestions on economical and intensive utilization of land in Tianshui city.
