Company owns inventory. But rough inventory management leads to higher inventory. Incorrect forecast directly brings up higher inventory.First of all, in the thesis, based on the summing-up of the researches both at home and abroad, it systematically describes all kinds of inventory management method both at home and abroad. In the perspective of supply, it includes VMI, JIT, ABC inventory management, and so on. The advantages and disadvantages of traditional inventory management methods are pointed out and it points out that the disadvantage is passive way of inventory management. In the following supply orientation model, it takes advantage from traditional inventory management into consideration, which leaves positive effects on minimizing inventory level.Secondly, the problems in company inventory management are described. The incorrect forecast directly brings up relatively higher inventory. Leadtime is the main reason why we can not correctly foresee the forecast. The longer leadtime, the more incorrect forecast will occur. Sharing information could minimize the effects of longer leadtime. Through analyzing the four kinds of category, it gets different index of buffer stock. And the DSI (Days of inventory) model is proposed. Besides this, through analyzing the past two years of forecast history, the rules of forecast change with two peak and two valley are found out. And then we adjust forecast based on the rules with degree of accuracy for forecast.Lastly, take DSI model, leadtime, supply orientation model, adjustment index into consideration, we adjust forecast to get higher correct forecast. Through adjusting forecast from the perspectives of supply and demand, we get good performance from forecast adjustment.
