As the main part of the port operations, the large-scale equipment, applied to load and unload the port cargo frequently, is the foundation of a link-function the port presented. The port machinery equipment which gradually develops toward the large-scale and intelligent direction becomes more and more complicated in the production process, the cost is also expensive. Therefore, no matter in terms of security or economic context, it's obviously very important to carry out the real-time and online monitoring on the large-scale port machinery equipment and do the scientific and reasonable maintenance on this basis.Gantry crane is one of the most common large-scale equipments in the port handling operation, there is a certain pertinence to take it as research object. By analyzing the development process of the maintenance system and the research situation of machine condition monitoring at home and abroad, summarizing the application situation of the maintenance decision support system in the multi-field, this paper proposes the research direction on the maintenance decision support system of the gantry crane based on-line monitoring, aiming at applying the advanced technology and reasonable maintenance strategy to the maintenance decision of gantry crane equipment, providing equipment management and maintenance staff with an intuitive understanding on the gantry crane equipment management, getting rid of the bound on the limitations of the traditional maintenance system, and providing the rational decision-making support for the gantry crane's maintenance.This paper proposes the theory of the maintenance decision support system based on online monitoring of the gantry crane, explains various modules, especially the online monitoring system module, and on this basis, it analyzes and summarizes the important parts which achieve the decision support system. First, according to the structural characteristics of gantry crane, it classifies and categorizes the whole equipment system to determine maintenance decision objects. Then, comprehensively considers the maintenance factors, such as the aspect of economy, monitoring, maintainability, reliability and so on, gains the weight of each index by scoring, and makes decisions for each maintenance object in different maintenance ways by using the method of fuzzy mathematics. For the maintenance objects that use the preventive maintenance, this paper establishes the cycle decision-making model which considers the military age reduction factors and the failure rate increase factors, calculates with examples to prove the feasibility of the model. Next, it puts forward the concept of the integrated information database of gantry crane, and designs related data tables and their relationship. Finally, through the requirements analysis, designing of the overall structure and information flow analysis of the gantry crane maintenance decision support system, it develops a web application system based on B/S and achieves the decision-making procedures based on the database designing。In this article, it uses C# language in VS.NET platform to develop and implement the online monitoring maintenance decision support system of gantry crane. The process of maintenance strategy and each process gradually programming makes the maintenance activities in an order and the maintenance decisions reasonable, improves the availability and scalability of the system.
