In order to develop new application in information recording materials field, the research progress of photo-responsive microcapsule and the fabrication of coumarin-polymer modified microcapsule is summarized. The fluorescence property and releasing behavior of microcapsule by UV controlling is also studied.Firstly, photo-responsive microcapsule shell prepolymer is designed and synthesized.7-hydrocy-4-methylcooumarin,1,5-dibromopentane, pentaerythritol, IPDI are used as raw materials and potassium carbonate, DBTDL are used as catalyst. The synthesis procedure include two steps etherification and one step polycondensation. FTIR and1H NMR are used to ensure production.Secondly, interfacial polymerization and photo-polymerization are used to fabricate coumarin-polymer modified microcapsule. coumarin shell prepolymer and ODB-2/D-8are used as shell materials and core materials respectively to fabricate two different dye-loaded microcapsule. The optimized reaction condition is discussed:changing of oil/water ratio, core/shell ratio, emulsifier and its content of PVA1788, emulsification rate and its time, reaction rate and its reaction time can influence the morphology of microcapsule. POM and SEM are used to observe the morphology of microcapsule. Particle size analysis software is used to analysis microcapsule size distribution.Finally, ecapsulation two different kinds of dyes:one is D-8dyes the other is fluorescence ODB-2dyes. Fluorescence spectra and fluorescence microscope are used to analysis their fluorescence property and control release property. We observe that coumarin dimer moieties photo-cleave and photo-crosslink reaction under two different light254and365nm UV light irradiation and change rate of microcapsule shell fluorescence intensity at300nm. Changing rate of ODB-2flourescence intensity at500nm with different exposure time is also observed. It realize microcapsule control release property.
