In the past decades, with the rapid development of materials science and thebrisk demand of multi-functional materials, Lanthanides Metal–OrganicFrameworks(Ln-MOFs) are gaining widespread research interest due to theirexcellent properties. Ln-MOFs can not only display the unique luminescence, magnetism properties of lanthanides ions, but also combine the excellentperformances of Metal–Organic Frameworks like micropores, selective sensing, catalysis, chirality etc. Ln-MOF is of brilliant future in the potential application to thefunctional materials. It remains a great challenge to design effective, stable, economic,environmental-friendly Ln-MOFs. In this paper,we mainly discuss the structures andproperties of several novel coordination polymers that based on carboxylate ligandsand lanthanide metal ions under solvothermal conditions. This paper is divided intofour chapters. In the first chapter, we systematically introduced the basic conception ofMetal–Organic Frameworks, the recent research progress of the LanthanidesMetal–Organic Frameworks that based on carboxylate ligands as well as thesignificance and the progress made in this project. In the second chapter, we synthesized three porous Ln-MOFs[Nd2(BPT)2(H2O)4]·H2O (1),[Tb(BPT)(H2O)2]·H2O (2),[Gd(BPT)(H2O)2]·H2O(3)with BPT ligand under solvothermal condition. All of them display3D structures.2shows unique fluorescence property. In the third chapter, we synthesized two porous Ln-MOFs with H3TATAB undersolvothermal condition:[Eu2(TATAB)2]·4H2O (4),[Tb2(TATAB)2]·4H2O (5). Theydisplay the same3D structures with uncoordinated–NH functional sites.5can beused as a selective fluorescence probe toward Fe3+.4can be used to size-selectivecatalysis activity toward Knoevenagel condensation reaction and Cyanosilylationreaction, and can be easily recycled with stable crystal structure. In the Conclusion, we summarized the structures of the five Ln-MOFs anddiscussed the luminescence and catalysis properties. The research provided a new method for the design and construction of Ln-MOFs with novel functions.
