Coordination chemistry has developed rapidly in the process of contacting, integrating and intersecting with other relevant disciplines since Werner presented his coordination theory, and coordination method was more widely used in agriculture, industry, medicine, national defense, aerospace and other fields. In this dissertation, the quality of cigarettes was aimed to be ameliorated in the two aspects of reducing carbon monoxide content of cigarette smoke and stabilizing the tobacco flavor. The main results are as follows:(1) In the study of reducing carbon monoxide content of cigarette smoke, cuprous chloride has been chosen to adsorb the CO in cigarette smoke based on coordination adsorption mechanism. Conditions of the organic coating agent types, dosage, temperature and time covered have been explored while improving the oxidation resistance of cuprous chloride. The Coating effect and possible mechanisms for coating cuprous chloride have been characterized by infrared spectra, thermal analysis and powder X-ray diffractions. The best organic coating agent and the optimum coating conditions were determined. The characterization results indicate that bond function exists between the coating agent and cuprous copper.(2) NaY zeolite has been selected to be the carrier after comprehensive comparison of NaY zeolite, activated alumina and activated carbon from the aspects of the specific surface area, pore size and stability. Then NH4Y zeolite was obtained by ion exchanging modification. The effect on CO adsorption properties has been studied in the aspects of the ratio, calcination temperature and time. The imfluence between modified cuprous copper and NH4Y zeolite has been characterized by the specific surface area analysis, powder X-ray diffraction and CO adsorption properties. The optimum preparation conditions of the adsorbent have been determined by numerous experiments investigation, and the loading mechanism has been characterized be possible solid ion exchange and dispersion at molecular level.(3) Compounds1-4have been successfully obtained, utilizing the interaction between pyridine matters (containing nicotine) and zinc ions. These compounds have been structurally characterized by Infrared spectra, thermal analysis, single crystal X-ray diffractions and static headspace GC-MS analysis, and the tobacco flavoring effects of the four compounds were studied by headspace solid phase micro-extraction GC-MS analysis. The experimental results show that these four compounds are stable at room temperature and can release the original ligand perfume material in the condition of cigarette suction. It has been proved that these compounds instead of their ligands spices added to cigarettes can improve the quality of the cigarette.
