The total amount of heavy metal(Cd、Pb、Hg、Cr and As) and the Hg isotopesincluded Hg199、Hg200and Hg202were analysed in the soil of the Xi’an parks by usingICP-MS.The pollution of the Hg and its isotopes was evaluated by using the geologicalcumulative index and the Cd、Pb、Cr and As were evaluated by using the potentialecological risk index method. The correlation of the same kind of heavy metal and therelationship between different heavy metals’content by using SPSS19.0were discussed. The results showed that there were differences in all areas. The content regular of Hgwas east>west>noth> within the city wall>south, the content regular of Cd was west>south> east> within the city wall> noth, the content regular of Pb was within the city wall>west> south>noth>east, the content regular of As was west> within the city wall> east> noth> south, the content regular of Cr was west> noth> south>within the city wall>east. The results of assessment of potential ecological risk index and the geologicalcumulative index showed that the degree of content of Hg in east and west suburb parkswas belonged to the medium risk higher than other areas. The potential ecologicalrisk levelof Cd belonged to the medium risk in all areas and Pb、Cr and As belonged to the slightecological risk. The content of Hg199、Hg200and Hg202in west parks were different, the content ofHg200was the hightest. The results of assessment of the isotopes of Hg showed thatHg199、Hg200and Hg202belonged to thenon-risk in west parks. The average content of Hg、Cd、As、Pb、Cr in the foliar dust was higher than that in the soil in all areas. The averagecontent of the heavy metal in the foliar dust had the positive correlation with that in thesoil. The content changes of heavy metals were relatively obvious in the soils of parks. Thecontent of Pb was basically the correlation in the parks of east surbub and within the city wall; the content of Cr and Hg was basically the correlation in the parks of west surbub; thecontent of Cd was basically the correlation in the parks of south surbub; the content of CrandAs was basicallythe correlation in the parks of noth surbub.
