Because the thermodynamic behavior is one of the most important characteris-tics for a black hole, many proposals have been presented to describe the thermody-namics of the black hole. Bekenstein [1] showed firstly that the black hole horizon has a thermodynamic behavior. After the four laws of black hole dynamics which are similar to the four laws of thermodynamics were found, Hawking [2] proposed that the black hole is not completely black and it can radiate particles with a per-fect black-body spectrum. In 1974 Bekenstein [3] proposed that the black hole area spectrum is equally spaced and the expression of area spectrum is An = nγlp2. Then the quantization of the black hole horizon area became one of the most interesting subjects and many researches have been concentrated on it. Hod [7] proposed that the area spacing of a black hole is 4lp2ln3 and indicated that the area spectrum is related to the properties of quasinormal modes. Then Dreyer [8] fixed the parameter by using a result from classical gravity concerning the quasinormal mode spectrum of a black hole. And Kunstatter [9] provided the adiabatic invariant and he also suggested that the adiabatic invariant has equally spaced spectrum. Maggiore [10] made a physical interpretation of the spectrum of black hole quasinormal modes. Zeng et al [11] utilized the period of motion of an outgoing wave, which is related to the vibrational frequency of the perturbed black hole, to quantize the horizon area of a black hole. Based on the studies above, the thermodynamics and spectroscopy have attracted many scholars, and many investigations have been successfully de-velopped on the thermodynamics and spectroscopy of several black holes. It is widely believed that the expansion of the universe is accelerating. In order to explain this fact, many scholars assumed that our universe exists an exotic scalar field with a large negative pressure named as dark energy, which makes up 70% of our universe. Quintessence is one of the dark energy mode which is discussed widely. The static spherically-symmetric exact solutions of Einstein equations with the quintessential matter surrounding a black hole is presented by Kiselev [43], the quasinormal of black hole surrounded by quintessence has been discussed in Refs. [44,45].In this thesis, the thermodynamic and spectroscopic behavior of Reissner-Nordstrom (R-N) black hole with quintessence are studied. We obtain the evolution of entropy with thermodynamic quantities with different values of the quintessence parameter. And we also find the area spectrum by assuming that the adiabate invariant obeys Bohr-Sommerfeld quantization rules. And we find that the area spectrum depends on the black hole parameters, but the area spacing is equal and independent of black hole parameters.
