Analysis On Spatial-temporal Characteristics And Driving Force About Urban Expansion On RS And GIS

Since 1978, the process of urbanization has been in the stage of rapid development in China. Country urbanization is a joint point between the urban and the rural as the basic administrative unit in our country. The development of country urbanization affects the overall process of urbanization. The regularity ofTongzhou urban spatial extension is more representativeunder the back of the coordinated development of Jing-Jin-Ji country unit. The research of it is good for the development of not only Tongzhou’s urbanization but also theimportant nodein the process of integration of the Jing-Jin-Ji region.This articletakes Tongzhou as the research area,uses RS and GIS as the main technology, and adopts remote sensing image in 2004,2005 ane 2009 as the data source.According to the dynamic model of a single land, the model of centroid transition, the index of elastic coefficient and the intensity index of urban expansion, it analyzes the development of spatial-temporal characteristics in Tongzhou deeply and discusses the element of driving force. There are some important conclusions:1)It can satisfy the accuracy requirement of the country urbanization extensional analysis by the extraction results of the land use information which using the medium resolution remote sensing data on the basis of RS date processing. The land-use transfer matrix can effectively reflect the change of land-use type. It’s the basis of the country urbanization extensional analysis.2)Through the analysis of urban spatial-temporal characteristics, we can find the urban expansion of Tongzhou is fast and the speed is faster tan the population growth. And the development space is very different among the villages,towns and central city. The center of mass move toward south. But the direction has different kinds in villages and towns because of the building of new city and the influence of policy.3)According to the 11 years’ statistical date and the founction of GIS spatial analysis, the research of driving force element about Tongzhou’s spatial extension indicates that the population is the foundation of the urban expansion, economy is the basic power, traffic has directivity and policy is the guide for extension.
