Koumiss’s history can traced back form at least the 5th century BC. Today, horses are still traditionally milked and the koumiss are also consumed by some Asian and Eastern European countries. Koumiss with favorable proportion of nutrition and easy for the absorption of human body. In the Mongolian traditional medicine koumiss treatment, koumiss is used to treat tuberculosis, cardiovascular disease, digestive diseases and anemia, the symptomatic treatment effect is significantly. Koumiss has a complicated ecosystem which contains many different kind of strains of Lactic acid bacteria, research the genome compositions and features of the Koumiss functional bacterial strains, it can helps to understanding the mechanisms governing specific functions control and the related key genes. It will be a major significance to food industry, biopharming and agricultural production. The paper taken the Lactobacillus helveticus AJT as the research objects, we extracted the Lactobacillus helveticus AJT genomic DNA and constructed tow kind of Libraries as 500bp and 5k, then the tow Libraries was sequenced by the Illumina HiSeq2000 and Illumina Miseq sequencing platform. Using the SOAPdenovo software to assembled the reads. Finally, we got the L. helveticus AJT whole genome sequences, The Result shows that the L. helveticus AJT genome size is 2,054,388bp, and contains 36.73% GC. Use the GO、COG and KEGG databases to predict the L. helveticus AJT genes functions. Through the GO databases to analysis, we found that the L. helveticus AJT has 1533 functional genes. Through the COG to analysis, we found that the L. helveticus AJT has 948 functional genes. By the KEGG pathway for analysis, found that the L. helveticus AJT has 1092 function genes. According to the results of the genome composition analysis and the functional annotation, the L. helveticus AJT genome contains the helveticin J gene、the helveticin J family proteins gene and the transport Bacteriocin ABC gene.
