The Comparison And Research For The Bank Of Communications Xi'an Branch

With the deepening of financial reformation in China and as a number of WTO, the competition of banking will sharpen greatly. In this essay, on the base of the related theories, a system of index to evaluate the competence of commercial banks is made. According to the definition to the competence of commercial banks in this essay, the system should include four pillars: the real competence of commercial banks, the potential competence, the ability of turning potential competence into real competence and the factor of environment. Here, the real competence is measured by the index of the commercial bank's resource and the operation condition and the potential competence can be compared by the efficiency of organization and the ability of innovation. For the ability of turning potential competence into real competence, it can be evaluated by the ability of business development. (The factors of environment doesn't be considered, because, in this essay, the commercial banks compared are located in the same areas they face the same environment.) In the system of the index and by the use of evaluation model, the competence of seven commercial banks in Xi'an is compared (these banks are all share holding system banks and they belong to middle or small banks in scales). In the analysis of the competence, the focus is the superiority and inferiority of Bank of Communications in Xi'an. On the base of the comparison, the conclusion is the competence of Bank of Communications is the fourth in Xi'an and it should make full use of its resources to improve its competence. There are six measures to get the aim, including improving the structure of organization, enhancing the management of human resources, making perfect of the marketing organization, improving the management of risk and building the advanced company culture. All of these measures will also benefit to other banks.
