In the production process, the application of data acquisition system can gather, monitor and record the technological parameter in the production field. It provide means of improve the product quality and reduce the cost. With the computer technology and the electronic information technology's rapid development, the data acquisition system also obtained the widespread application. Especially in the domains of aerospace, geological prospecting, electric power, radar, communication and so on. Under some special occasions, we also set the very high request to data acquisition system's portability. Therefore, designs an appropriate data acquisition system appears especially essential and urgent. This paper has established a data acquisition system based on FPGA and the USB2.0 technologies, including the following aspects:Firstly, because FPGA and USB2.0 have so many incomparable advantages, through studying and analyzing its principles, proposed a data acquisition system based on FPGA and USB2.0 technologies.Secondly, the system's hardware have been designed, including the A / D converter chip, USB2.0 chip, FPGA chip, system power supply chips and all the peripheral circuits.Thirdly, in accordance with the established hardware design, designed the corresponding software code, including the A / D chip interface and USB2.0 interface chip code which controlled by main chip FPGA, using Verilog HDL language; designed USB2.0 firmware chip code by the C51 language;Fourthly, complete hardware and software debug have been done, using ModelSim simulation tests and experimental verification, the system functions was correct.Through studying the FPGA and USB2.0 technologies in this paper, proposed data acquisition system design plan, using FPGA and USB2.0 as core technologies, designed hardware circuit and software code. The system not only achieved general-purpose data acquisition system tasks, but also achieved high-speed, integration and low power purpose.
