With rapid growth of modern communications, the single channel transmission capacity of existing optical fiber network has been gradually filled. It is an effective way to resolve this problem by adopting dense wavelength-division multiplexing (DWDM) technology. At the same time high-performance data transmission requires high-performance optical devices, and this also makes higher demands for the test of optical devices. Arrayed-waveguide grating is with low insertion loss, low crosstalk between channels, steady, easy to integration and easy to coupling with fiber, is regarded the best choice for DWDM network, plays an important role in optical fiber communication.The main work of this thesis is about the design and analysis of the AWG testing system. The work mainly consists of three parts:(1) In this thesis, the theory and the old testing system of AWG are investigated. Based on the old testing system, a lot of experiments have been done to study the testing parameter and the production. Then we design the new testing system with the module of DAQ.(2) As the system is new. We need to design the new connectors and the size of the windows overpass by the light source. To make the new testing system work better, we need to replace the power meter with the new module. We also design the new testing software to match the new testing system.(3) The stability of the testing system is analyzed; the range value and the average value of the parameters are under controlled. In addition, the industrial measurement analysis GR&R is used to analyze the new testing system. With the analysis of insertion loss, polarization dependent loss and AX, it is verified that the test system is match the requirements of the company and can be used in the production line. Finally the analysis of the testing system about accuracy and efficiency have been done, which has a good result.
