Wireless sensor network (WSN) is the combination of computer, communication and sensor which are three pillars of the information industry in the 21st century. It makes it possible to perceive the situation of people or things and the circumjacent environment and to provide various services according to different users based on the wireless network technology. WSN will largely meet the needs of this new communication that not only can satisfy people from information transmission and retrieve to acquisition but also make machine to machine (M2M) which named content objects the subject of the communication in the future.ZigBee technology which is one of WSN technology standards has attracted extensive attention for its low power consumption, low cost, low complexity, etc. The research for its application also becomes hotter and hotter. Yet the current research is mainly focused on short communication making its application very limited.A data transmission design scheme for remote communication channel is researched in this dissertation based on ZigBee technology. Combining traditional communication mode, the purpose of long-distance communication is achieved with the application of ZigBee agreement itself.With CC2430 wireless chip as the core in this dissertation, hardware circuits of transmitting nodes including serial communication interface, LCD display and power management circuits, etc are designed based on DTD243A wireless transmitting module. Under IAR7.2 H integrated development environment, the programs of data transmission and serial interface communication as well as the network construction and jump routing are designed and researched respectively based on the ZigBee 2006 edition protocol stack. Meanwhile, system testing of wireless platform is also processed. Finally, the ultimate goal of this project is realized.
