Study And Implementation Of A Kind Of Embedded Net-based Multimedia Terminal

With the rapid development of broadband network,digital multimedia technology is tending towards more portable and net-based.The big demands of varied multimedia service and the fast update of DSP technology with related products enormously prompt the development of embedded net-based multimedia technology.Many applications based on this technology such as multimedia sensor network,video monitor system,net-based video,audio broadcast and VOD etc. focus more on big data-size capture and processing as audio and video informa-tion,which has broad utility prospect in military,civil and commerce fields. Thus, developing cost-effective,stable net-based multimedia terminal combined withg the good features of stream media and embedded technology has become a popular subject among scientific re-search institutions and industry world.This paper presents a kind of embedded multimedia terminal,surporting real-time video encoding,decoding,information streaming multiplexing, demultiplexing, network transmitting and WiFi functions based on DaVinci system.In the beginning,the paper introduces the typical applications of net-based multimedia termi-nal, then the analysis of related software and hardware platform is presented. Next, details of system software design are given,which involves introductions of popular video encoding al-gorithm and principles , V4L2 and FramBuffer drivers working process, DaVinci system en-coding, decoding process, MPEG-2 TS multiplexing ,demultiplexing technology and multi-plexing algorithm library, Stream media transport protocols etc. Mainly research the achieve-ments of system transport module building, wireless access control and modification of port-able drivers for system WiFi module.Interaction among system different threads are also men-tioned. Finally, system whole functions are tested ,in addition, results analysation and sugges-tions for future work are given.This subject has brought a whole intelligent net-based embedded multimedia terminal with multifunctions into effect,which has a great using value and is also a good reference for re-search and development of other embedded net-based applications technology simultaneously.
