TD-SCDMA R4 network and TD-HSDPA network are now under deployment in China. Research on the co-existence between these two above mentioned networks is very important to the deployment of them. But related research is quite limited. As a good application of TD-SCDMA technique, TD-SCDMA Home NodeB is expected to have a bright future. One of the main topics in 3GPP and CCSA is interference management between Home NodeB and other existing systems. One way to make the tradeoff between the Home NodeB coverage and the interference to other systems is to adjust the maximum output power of Home NodeB. This issue has been discussed over WCDMA Home NodeB in 3GPP. But few people have done this in the field of TD-SCDMA system. In this paper, we discuss the co-existence performance of TD-SCDMA R4 and TD-HSDPA under typical scenario first. According to the actual network and 3 GPP standards, we propose some important assumptions for co-existing systems analysis, including the co-existing models, the deployment scenario, the propagation models and the interference model. Also, the impact on system capacity due to co-existence is investigated. And some advises on the interference management of TD-HSDPA and TD-SCDMA R4 systems are given.Besides, this paper also provides some discussion on the interference management of TD-SCDMA Home NodeB. Based on the characteristic of Home NodeB and the difference between it and typical TD-SCDMA system, we discuss about the basic assumptions for Home NodeB research. And the simulation results of Home NodeB interferes macro users with fixed output power are given. Finally, we summarize our research and predict the future of related research.
