In this article, we have a scope about the application and technology about FTTH. In FTTH optical network, driven by some core technology, FTTH become more popular, it's easy for us to design a FTTH network, the technology include Bending Optical Fiber, Mechanical Termination Connector and PON, etc. Nanostructures fiber has same performance with standard G652 and G657 normal fiber, it has better bending capability than other bending fiber; Mechanical termination is more faster, easy and flexible than traditional fusion connecting, we prove its'transmission performance and life through testing; we analyze EPON technology, it's the most popular PON solution in FTTH market; in the end, we have 4 types of FTTH solution for different apartment and housing campus.In the first chapter, we analyze the application and technology of FTTH in the World, also we have some problem in this market, new technology push FTTH market forward, and it's the most object of this article.In the second chapter, we analyze the Bending Optical Fiber, according to ITU-T G.657- Characteristics of a Bending Loss Insensitive Single Mode Optical Fiber; test the bend insensitive fiber performance with the G.657A and G.657B standard. There are five bend insensitive fibers: small mode field diameter fiber trenched cladding fiber, hole-assisted fiber (HAF), photonic crystal fiber (PCF) and nanostructure fiber. Small mode field diameter fiber and trenched cladding fiber is much easy to produce, but it is not matching with standard single mode fiber. Trenched cladding fiber is limited of its bending capability. Hole-assisted fiber and photonic crystal fiber have very good bending performance, but it can not match with standard single mode fiber, and it is very difficult to produce. Nanostructure fiber uses nanostructure technology. The process is easy and can be mass production, and the performance of bend insertion loss is 100 times of G.652D, 10 times of G.657B. In additional, nanostructure fiber is complied with G.652D,G.657A and G.657B, it is the best choice for FTTH deployment. Corning ClearCurve fiber is from FTTH engineering, and it's the most popular Bending Optical Fiber of nanostructure in FTTH market now.We have a brief about PiXian fiber cable, the special fiber cable in China FTTH market.In the third chapter, based on the Corning UniCam connector, we analyze the technology of mechanical termination. We prove fiber connector of mechanical termination could support high-speed data and video application. Most people have concern about the gel applied in fiber mechanical connector; we also prove its life is acceptable. All of this strengthens the position of mechanical termination connector in FTTH.We analyze the pre-connected fiber cable system according to the Plug and Play solution of Corning.In the forth chapter, we analyze PON technology, compare the EPON and GPON technology. EPON is much popular than GPON in current FTTH market, we analyze the up-access and other core technology about EPON.In the fifth chapter, based on the core technology we mentioned and building situation in China, we have 4 types of FTTH solution. Include 3 types of FTTH solution based on the height of apartment building,and 1 pre-connected FTTH solution for housing campus.In the sixth chapter, it's the conclusion and foreseeing.
