In recent years, Wi-Fi has been developing greatly as the representativefor the WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network) technology, and it has beendeployed in many application areas. In the control community, it has becomea research frontier to integrate the wireless network with the traditionalcontrol system and build the WNCS (Wireless Networked Control Systems). The WNCS has many advantages, such as high-mobility, extendibility andflexibility, etc. However, owing to the features of the wireless network, thecontrol systems based on the wireless network can easily cause someproblems, such as random time delay, packet loss, interference and low safety, etc. According to the typical problems of WNCS, some studies have beendone in this thesis, including:Firstly, the basic structure and main features of Wi-Fi and WNCS areintroduced, and the typical problems of WNCS and the corresponding controlmethods are discussed.Secondly, using the MATLAB/Simulink platform and the TrueTimetoolbox, the WNCS simulating model is built. Beisdes, considering theimpact of the system parameters' change , the network delay and packet loss, the system stability and control performance are analyzed.Thirdly, an adaptive fuzzy-PID controller is designed to solve theproblem of network delay and packet loss, and the simulation result shows itsvalidity. The controller has good control effect and makes up the negativeimpact of wireless network from the view of control.
