Digital X-ray imaging technique use X-photon high-penetration characteristics of the material, can achieve the non-destructive testing of the work piece about internal structure and defect, which is an important means of product quality testing. But the key components in the aerospace industry are usually with features of non-regular geometric shape and complex internal structure, when X-rays act on these work pieces, because of large differences of the thickness of work piece through detected direction and limited dynamic range of the imaging system, scattering and other reasons, resulting in the phenomenon of a single scan image "blooming" and without information, the internal structure and the flaw effective detection of the work piece can not be achieved through the Single Radiographic image. This paper according to complex structure and shape of the work piece for the problem of X-ray detection ,based on without changing the physical composition of ray imaging system the variable energy X-ray scanning and imaging technology is proposed. First, analysis the basic principles of the variable energy X-ray scanning and imaging detection technology, establish the relational model of the relationship between gray - voltage - thickness, according to the model, set the voltage and adjustment step and range, by X-ray machine tube voltage optimal regulation, in order to gain the X-ray image sequence of textual gradient ray energies; Second, for different ray energies the problem of the treatment of image fusion, based on the best gray zone combined with gray - voltage - thickness model, the effective data subset of extraction, weighted, fusion algorithm is proposed, thus achieve ray images of dynamic range extended and high-quality X-ray image detection. Finally, the paper by analysis the step bar and engine cylinder head specimen variable energy scan imaging detection data to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the variable energy X-ray detection method.
