The application of wireless video transmission system is penetration into all areas of human life with the rapid development of video transmission technology.ZigBee is a rising wireless network technology featuring short distance, lowcomplexity,low power consumption,low data rate,low cost,gains wide popularity in many fields. In the current, how to using the ZigBee protocol to the field of video transmission has become a hot topic.This paper research the ZigBee network technology and designed the ZigBee network simulation platform based on the NS2 network simulation tool,which improved the Evalvid video transmission system. And then using this platform simulated video data transmission in the ZigBee network, and analyzed the effect of its transmission.From the simulation results of ZigBee system, we find that the PNSR is very low, the packet loss rate is too high and the quality of reconstruction video is poor.So, transmitting video data simply relying on ZigBee network can not meet the practical applications. Therefore, we improved the ZigBee system which combined multi-radio multi-channel and multiple description coding techniques. The simulation results show that the modified model significantly improves video transmission quality and network robustness, which meet the basic application requirements.Finally,this paper gives a new direction of ZigBee video transmission technology. And then designed a video surveillance system network topology in intelligent bus, which combined with the typical profile of intelligent transportation system. And then give systems analysis and design the hardware framework.Making ZigBee technology applied to the intelligent traffic video surveillance network provided a new direction of developing the intelligent traffic system, expanded the scope of application of ZigBee technology and promoted the theoretical study of ZigBee technology.
