The Research Of Schedule Control In PTT Handphone Client Development Project

Conventional PTT (Push-To-Talk) service has a long history. PTT is a half-duplex group communication service over wireless network. Users only need to press a key on the mobile to talk to someone or to a group. Corporate companies may find PTT is very useful to increase management efficiency since it caters for scheduled communication in groups. US Telecoms Operator Nextel has deployed Motorola's iDEN system which makes Nextel has the highest ARPU and lowest Churn Rate among all US Operates.Currently, Mobile Operators have to demand new applications or services in order to increase their revenue, market share and user loyalty. PoC (Push-to-Talk over Cellular) has steadily grown in popularity adopted and can be a killer application. Motorola's PoC Solution is a flexible IP-based VoIP server platform for CDMA-1X/EV-DO, GSM/GPRS/UMTS and W-LAN markets built in a modular fashion with a disaggregated architecture. PoC running on 3G infrastructure will have much better performance than on 2G. This project's objective is to develop a downloadable client based on Windows Mobile operation system. Registered user can easily download the PTT client software from Operator's internet server and install it on their Windows Mobile cellular phone. Then they can place PTT calls on the cellular system at any place where has cellular coverage. This project management knowledge and skills were adopted through the five critical phases of the project life cycle:initiation, planning, executing, monitoring and closing. It covers many essential elements of project management including Integration, Scope, Time, Cost, Quality and Communications, especially on Time and Cost. By using these project management methods and skills, this project was undertaken successfully following the planned schedule and estimated cost. Finally, this project was completed as planned variety of handsets PTT client development and helps to push the PoC service into the market.
