With the development of network and multimedia technology, the exchange of digital video products has reached unprecedented depth and extent. Digital video products can be widely copied without the decline of quality, which cause the infringement of copyright and piracy problems. Digital video watermark can embed some hidden information to protect the copyright without affecting video quality. A new video watermarking algorithm based on genetic algorithm and discrete wavelet transform in transform domain is proposed in this article. In the process of realization, on the one hand, make discrete wavelet transform to the original video frames and mark the transformed image block. on the other hand, scramble the embedded watermark and use genetic algorithm to embed it into the mid-frequency of video frame. Experiments show that the proposed algorithm has a good robustness to deal with the attacks such as dropped frames, frame average, and has strong adaptability.
