In recent years, the development of China's geology-related facilities for public use goes so rapidly, such as highways, railways, urban transport, Sea Passage Project, Water Resources, and Hydropower Engineering. As following, the related projects have continued to increase, and tunnel constructions take a great proportion, they often require strong expert guidance, so the establishment of geological expert system to reach the expert level of knowledge construction, not only can enhance economic efficiency, but also reduce project risks. The expert system consists of three parts, geological features and disasters forecasting, project risk assessment and construction of countermeasures, application of the two reasoning, rule-based reasoning (Rule-Based Reasoning, RBR) and CBR (Case-Based Reasoning, CBR). The first two parts are based on RBR, using object-oriented knowledge representation, and packaging the rules together with the attributes in objects, which learns from the OOP ideas, making the inference more efficient. In project risk assessment and construction of countermeasures subsystem, cases can be expressed easily and universally, while using case-based reasoning. Case-based reasoning is based on the experience of the past to solve similar problems to get the results of the current issue of an expert system for solving inference model, in this system, using cases to express the situations that happened in geological engineering to provide users with a valid reference.
