The acceleration sensor has been widely applied to such domain as military, astronautics, geodesy and industry. Piezoelectric acceleration sensor have been widely applied with advantages of simple structure, small size, light weight, high temperature, wide measurement frequency and dynamic range, stable performance and good output linearity. Frequency response characteristic of sensor will directly impact on its using performance. It is needed to calibrate frequency response characteristic of the sensor, in order to determine its dynamic performance according to frequency response curve. At recently traditional mechanical calibration system is used at home and abroad, it need adjust sinusoidal excitation manually and record response characteristics point by point with mechanical recorder. Calibration errors are inevitable for large damping, slow response and large human disturbance of the mechanical system.Using computer program control the calibration process, adjusting the test stimuli automatically, utilizing storage and process functions of the database will provide more extensive testing information and analysis tools at the same time improve calibration accuracy and efficiency. This article elaborates on the dynamic performance evaluation methods from the point of physical principle of acceleration sensor; make a clear goal of the experiment; design a set of digital acceleration sensor calibration system which is based on computer and MCU control unit combined with the traditional mechanical calibration method and build the testing platform, analyzing the feasibility and reliability of the system in the actual test. Improve the performances to build a set of digital acceleration calibration system which meet the design goals and functions.
