Wireless Multimedia Sensor Networks (WMSNs)is a new kind of sensor networkson the basis of the traditional Wireless Sensor Networks(WSNs). Compared with thetraditional sensor network technology, it is concerned with large amount of dataacquisition, processing and media transmission, such as audio, video, images. Withgreater restrictions in resources energy and time delay, WMSNs is quite difficult tosupport for multimedia transmission of real time data flow, therefore it is urgent todesign a new routing protocol with QoS guarantee suitable for multimedia sensornetwork, thereby realizing effective information transmission.The thesis presents the concept, characteristics, the development trend, and futureresearch fields of WMSNs; The thesis discusses emphatically the QoS requirements andcurrent research status; The thesis gives the hierarchical routing protocol LEACH ofWSNs. Based on the analysis of transmit energy consumption model, it study imagetransmission performance of two hop layer structure; For satisfy demand on servicequality for WMSNs, the thesis analyses the QoS routing protocol in reliability andtimeliness domains– Multi path and Multi Speed routing protocol (MMSPEED); Dueto the lack consideration of energy in MMSPEED routing protocols, the thesis combinesSNGF algorithm with energy constraint routing algorithm, then the thesis propose anenergy constrainted QoS routing algorithm based on MMSPEED protocol.
