This paper will do the research from two aspects, one is the influence of crystal thermal effect on beam quality, and another is the the effect on the laser loss.DPL as the research object, the algorithm theoretical model of the crystal thermal effect is built. Numerical methods are used, temperature difference distribution of the end-face are given by computer simulation. Refractive index changed obviously caused by non-uniform temperature field in homogeneous mediator, the light through the media distorted because of the thermal effect heterogeneity. And changing the optical path in the center axis directionare which at different distances from pump light are produced. Considereing the Influences of differrent pump light on crystal thermal effect, the ideal Gaussian beam and second order flattened Gaussian beam are chosen in this paper. With pumping power, pumping radius and cavity profile changed, the infulences of thermal effect on beam quality are studied qualitatively. In the influences of crystal thermal effect r the loss of laser, diffraction loss are studied in this paper. Iterative method for light wave field by using Fresnel-Kirchhoff formulas is described. The new light wave field which is obtained for each transition on the mirror must be normalized, and the adjance normalized coefficient are compared so that we can more quickly know that the initial light field can achieve a stable state through many iterations. Finally, the relative diffraction loss is calculated form the normalized coefficient.
