The switch remote monitoring is an important part of a distribution automatic monitoring system which is meaningful to improve the stability and economic effect of the power system. It is a crucial problem in the modernization management of the power system.Considering the development of the automatic systems of domestic distribution and international distribution, the paper proposed the implementation of Web-based remote monitoring system for 10KV switches. The study was concentrated on the following parts:1. An algorithm of line status discrimination based on distribution network topology analysis was proposed by analyzing the connection mode of distribution lines.2. The switch control flow and instruction data format was designed to fulfill the reliability requirements of the distribution with other three ideas presented.3. From the perspective of system integration, the whole monitoring system was divided into three functional modules, and then the frameworks and roles of these three functional modules were introduced in detail. According to the analysis of several key technologies, the methods of distribution network topologies edition, line status discrimination, real-time dynamic data distribution and dynamic image display were given.4. According to the request of the actual project, the software program of remote monitoring system was developed. And the systematic entirety structure was demonstrated. The detailed implementation and technical difficulties in the system development were particularly explained within the analysis of functional modules.
