Energy resource is an important guarantee for national economic development. As the main representation of energy industry, oil industry is given more and more emphasis by many countries. The application of information technology has attached revolutionary significance to the improvement of the oil exploration, data application and management as well. Special Oil Extraction Factory, an important manufacture base of Liaohe Oil-field, has made great advance in the informational construction.After a decade of the extra heavy oil exploitation, production and management have been refined and regionalized gradually. In order to expand the coverage of information applications and improve work efficiency, it is very important to achieve the individual and visual management of oil wells by informational technology.The oil well distribution and comprehensive dynamic tracing system in this paper roots in a real project developed for Special Oil Extraction Factory in Liaohe Oil-field. An opening platform for oil well information tracking is implemented. All of the information tracking programs in the system is queried by managers, but controls of entire process, access of various types of data, integration of result set, and handing of other abnormalities is implemented by the system itself. This architecture ensures the complete flexibility and openness for user, better stability and efficiency of system. Visualization of oil wells based on COM is realized by ActiveX, which solves the problem that traditional GIS consumes CPU extremely caused by repeated requests to the server and avoids the high cost of commercial GIS platform that is used for secondary development. The convex hull theory is introduced to oil wells visualization, which reduces the complexity of regional boundary drawing and improves the operating efficiency of system. Furthermore, a general data access framework is implemented to solve the problem of code redundancy, incongruence interfaces for different providers, and so on, in application programming using ADO.NET. Consequently, the framework reduces the burden of system development and improves the robustness and opening of system greatly.Since April, 2009 when the system was commenced in the formal environment, it has been receiving high praises from all sides of the Special Oil Extraction Factory and constructors.
