This paper is based on the theory of finite element methods. Using ripe engineering computing methods, construction analysis of large reflector radar antenna has been studied. In this paper, the basic principles of parabolic antenna and its organization are discussed emphatically. By the use of finite element method, static and transient mechanical analysis of parabolic antenna was studied. In connection with transient mechanical analysis, the analysis-method based on finite element method and the secondary development of ANSYS combined with programme of MATLAB has been introduced completely. Programming in MATLAB, wind loads and earthquake have been simulated successfully; in the environment of ANSYS, the dynamic loading of dynamic loads and the resultant data has been achieved by the secondary development of APDL.Finally, a standard finite element model of a 64m diameter parabolic antenna has been presented, and its static and dynamic mechanical analysis has been analyzed. The results have been given out, the utility of the analysis-method based on finite element method and the secondary development of ANSYS combined with programme of MATLAB has been verified after the discussion of the resultant data, and also, some advice for improving the antenna design has been given.
