With the development of flat-panel display technology, plasma display panel (PDP) receives more and more people's attention for its excellent performance, and has broad development prospects. The research topic involved in this paper comes from the Sichuan Changhong Group company plasma display panel project, developing a product and test equipment of plasma display panel PDP lighting inspection machine. This paper mainly discusses the design process of the electrical control system and researches the key technical problems. The productivity of PDP is improved significantly with application of this equipment.This paper firstly introduces the PDP panel production process and the workflow of the PDP lighting inspection machine. The electrical control system of the PDP lighting inspection machine is regarded as the main research objects. With Programmable logic controller Mitsubishi Q06 PLC as the control core, this Paper discusses detailed the PLC control system hardware choice, control system structure and the PLC Ladder control program design. Constituents of position system controlled by PLC-AC Servo are presented with prototype interpreting. Hardware and software design as well as some application program are given. In addition, the composition and program design of the three-layer communication networks between quipment and factory are also introduced, including the CC-Link, Melsecnet/H network and Ethernet.A human machine interface is designed using industrial touch-screen Mitsubishi GT1575-VTBD.The interface is used friendly, visually and according with the operators's habits. Then, the future research of the project is discussed.
