In today of the rapid development of science and technology,the shape and size measurements have been one of important part in industrial production, and people focus on the measurement of thickness. In the field of thickness measurement, using laser triangulation method as a typical non-contact measurement method in the absolute measurement of the object's thickness can not only meet the real-time ,but also ensure high-precision.This method of measurement becomes a trend of development in industrial production.The measurement technique for absolute thickness based on the laser-based triangulation is different from the former single optical path laser scanning measurement technique, the absolute measurement of flat objects used pairs of optical semiconductor laser technology and the combination of direct-type laser triangulation that improve the measurement speed and precision. This paper mainly includes the design of general program and its key technologies,the measurement principle, precision and error, experiment and another parts,at the same time provided data validation for the application of this theory by the new equipment.
