The development of advanced signal processing and internet technical not only accelerates the rapidly developing and widely broadcasting of multimedia, but also can satisfy the people's increasing requirement of multimedia. With the widely broadcasting of the multimedia works, the copyright protection becomes a considerable content to be settled. The measures of copyright protection could adopt encryption and digital watermarking technical. And the watermarking, subordinate to the technical of information hiding, is considered as the main and the effective fashion of copyright protection. It requires robustness, invisibility and high hiding capacity, which rely on advanced signal processing.According to the above contents, this thesis related these points and the main contribution includes the following parts:1. Research on ICA-Based multimedia feature analysis methodA novel ICA-based multimedia processing method, called ICA transform (ICAT) is proposed. Instead of the traditional blocking, ICAT derives more than one sub-signals from original one by down-sampling, and features are obtained from these sub-signals by using ICA. That helps ICAT extracts features with the global characteristics of the original, and the features are similar to those extracted by DWT.2. Research on the performance and application of the novel ICA-based multimedia feature analysis methodThe comparison between ICAT and Digital Wavelet Transform (DWT) is performed in multimedia processing, which exhibits that the results obtained by using ICAT has something superior: high occupation ratio of low frequency in the approximate component, multi-directional properties in detail components, the motion objects and back grand extraction in video as well. Finally, the ICA-based multimedia processing method is applied to digital watermarking to discuss the feasibility of the idea.3. Research on network communication system based on speech information hiding A network communication system based on speech information hiding is presented in this part. In this scheme, low-rate-audio encoding/decoding module and error-correct encoding/decoding module are added into network audio communication software. By using above modules the audio is processed and encoded, and then the encoded audio data will be hidden in carrier audio data by applying information biding technical. This scheme could achieve the secure audio communication on network.
