With the development of society and technology, the usage of Injection Molding Machine (IMM) is becoming more and more prevalent and the performance requirements are higher and higher. Characteristics such as high speed, energy conservation and low noise, represent the development direction of IMM. The further development and consummation of IMM will promote the progress of injection molding technology.The servo-pump IMM is well adapted to the new trend of IMM field and becomes the common goal of many IMM manufacturers and producers. Servo-pump IMM will become a certain broad market products.Based on the servo-pump IMM project together developed by B&R Industrial Automation and Shanghai Century Win Mechanical Industry Co.,Ltd. The subject is concentrated on studying and analyzing the opening and closing mold, the velocity and pressure control systems during the progress of injection and pressure holding. On this basis, the control system is designed based on feed-forward compensation PID algorithm, which performs as expected. The main contents of this paper are showed as follows:1. Introducing the important position of plastic industry in modern industry, the development of injection machine and the control technology of IMM access to related materials. All above lay a foundation for the study of servo-pump IMM project.2. Analyzing the structure and performance of servo-pump IMM, focus on the principle of selecting servo drives, servo motors and pumps respectively. The thesis details the servo-pump IMM hardware configuration and software system. New structure and strategy is also designed based on the advanced servo control technology.3. Describing the characteristics of PCC&ACOPOS motion control system, PCC controller, POWERPANEL and ACOPOS drive etc. ACOPOS Smart Process Technology and function block programming technology is also introduced.4. According to the characteristics of injection molding machine control scheme in B&R and the key technology, the design of hardware and software of the servo-pump injection's electric control system is completed by taking ACOPOS controller as the core. And the requirements of smooth switching between flow control and pressure control are achieved by using the feed-forward compensation PID control algorithm. The experiments on the IMM show the prefect performance of the system, which further verify the feasibility and reliability of the algorithm.Using servo-pump to upgrade the electrical system of conventional hydraulic IMM is the main point of the thesis. The advantages are that the performance and reliability of the IMM control system is improved and the cost of production is reduced effectively. The servo-pump IMM is a new type that drives hydraulic and electric in one which has advantage over both hydraulic IMM and electric MM. The advantage of the new IMM is energy conservation and high-performance. The servo-pump IMM combined with hydraulics and electrics is a major innovation in the industry and represents a new direction for technology development of IMM.
