With the advent of the Internet, network has been widely applied to teaching field and students can take online learning without constraints of time and space. Network teaching has been introduced into curricular courses as an assisted tool in teachers' teaching and as a cognitive tool in students' study in order to improve education and teaching efficiency. However, there is a big difference among students in network teaching, which decides online education is undoubtedly a kind of individualized education. Curricular field knowledge organization and learning navigation method are fundamental problems in individualized network teaching system, including systematized structure of knowledge expression and information system, information retrieval and reasoning algorithm, and so on.We have analyzed the structure of curricular knowledge from the perspective of the characteristics of curricular knowledge itself and the general laws of learning. We have studied organization mode of field knowledge in the frame of Ontology. We have studied systematized structure of curricular knowledge in four-layer structure based on curricular knowledge, chapters and sections, .knowledge nodes and materials. We have also studied field knowledge classification methods of ontology, defined four concepts, and designed a knowledge organization model of three-layer structure based on concept network, knowledge nodes and teaching materials. Thus we can achieve the purpose of knowledge sharing, knowledge association, automatic formation of content and flexibility of content. Knowledge foundation can be provided in applying the principle of "teaching according to students' aptitude " in network teaching system. We have designed user model, teaching mode and various intelligence navigation strategies and algorithms, which offers a new method for network teaching system's intelligence and individualized teaching and embodies the teaching idea of constructivism and human-oriented service principle. Taking "VFP database program designing" course for instance, we have had an explorative and practical research into the construction of individualized network teaching system.Finally, we have had an expectation of the future development prospects of individualized network teaching system and have put forward some suggestion for further improvement of this thesis' theoretical study and practical development.
