IP MAN Optimization Research And Case Studies

As an extension of IP backbone network, IP metropolitan area network (MAN) is the platform of access and convergence for business. It is also the key point to land the next generation of network. IP MAN's multi-service carrier will be the focus which will be optimized and improved by operator in the next step. As the rapid development of internet, on the one hand, as our clients gradually get to know the internet broadband service better, they become more and more unsatisfied with the traditional internet service. On the other hand, as the dramatic development of information technology, higher standards have been required on the establishment and optimization of IP MAN under the motivation of any over IP, especially under the fast development of new service like NGN and 3G.Therefore, the relevance between the needs of business and the development of technology determine that the establishment and optimization of IP MAN turns out dynamic and phased.In this thesis, depending on the guiding ideology of China Netcom Group Corporation, the author introduces relevant functions and characteristics of IP MAN from all levels by relying on relative standards of communication industry as well as summary of experience from practical maintain work. With the current status of IP MAN from operators, as well as the development of IP technology and people's needs of internet service, the author poses new methods of optimization. Additionally, the author raises advices of optimization according to the existent problems in the IP MAN of China Netcom (Yunnan) Limited. The thesis emphasizes on the analyses of the optimization methods of network levels, topology, IP address, OSPF and BGP routing protocol and their corresponding models. Moreover, the author proposes basic approaches and problems which should be noticed of the present construction and optimization of IP MAN in order to facilitate Yunnan branch IP MAN to guide its work.In the first place, the thesis made a particular introduction to the IP MAN Architecture and its related technology. It realized that which architecture should be used in present construction and optimization of IP MAN. Then it illustrated the Transport Network development which had an impact in topology and brought forward the typical topology in IP MAN. Integrated the present net construction model, it put forward the means of building and optimize OSPF and BGP Routing protocol on the basis of analyzing usual dynamic Routing Protocol. Finally, with the view to working condition in part of network node and the problems raised in maintain process, the thesis makes a optimization and adjustment in IP MAN of Yunnan branch company with the method which mentioned above, which is a strong support for developing the follow-up IP business.
