Today in a world where E-governance, enterprise informationalization, ordinary paper and electronic documents are far from meeting people's needs, while XML-formatted and secured E-Forms are increasingly attracting people's attention. This dissertation introduces the analysis and design of the new E-Form system based on the standards recommended by W3C XForms 1.1. To be better aligned to the current state in china and meet application developers and end-users' requirements, this system has incorporated much extension besides meeting the standards per W3C XForms 1.1 and is positioned as an independent middle-ware product This article discusses the functional requirements of the new E-Form system and compares the different requirements between the E-Governance industry and the mainstream E-Form. Through understanding, researching and analyzing E-Forms and XForms, the author presents the software architecture of the E-Form system. Elaborations on analysis and design of major components of the system are presented in the main body.In addition, positive attempts are made in this article in form data processing, for example, explaining research, application and existing problems in realizing technology similar to O-R mapping between XML data and the traditional relation databases, which takes the technology as an independent point for research, analysis and design and lays sound foundation for the provision of XML function interfaces in home-grown databases. The theoretical meaning of this article lies in analyzing and designing a set of standards that is basically in line with international practices along with complete E-Form products with Chinese characteristics, breaking through the monopoly of foreign software in this domain. The design ideology of XML2DB here also provides valuable solution references for addressing data resource integration of E-Form systems. The author flexibly combines technology and application and has theoretical and practical discussion on the topic. The practical implication of this article is also reflected in development of relatively mature and comprehensive E-Form products by stating analysis and design of E-Forms, which have been applied and validated in many real-world projects and taken over a large market share. Construction of governmental web portal, E-Governance Approval and other applications provide a new core technological support to enterprise informationalization, especially governmental informationalization. At the same time, on the basis of E-Form products many 3rd-party enterprises have developed: E-Governance Approval Platform, E-Contract Management System, Data Direct Reporting and Management System, etc., achieved desirable economic and social benefits during a short period of time.
