With the accomplishment of construction of GPRS network and the promulgation of WAP service based on that network, valued-added service is increasing acknowledgment by cell phone users. In the torrent of 3G network starting to run, much of the value-added service, however, can not meet the customers' expectation, primarily due to long-time delay or failure in completion. Therefore, an open, flexible model used to analyze the validity of the service process and the resources consumed by it becomes a basic requirement of Wireless Communication Department. Stochastic Petri net, as a newly-developed theory which combines the effectiveness of computer simulation and the precision of analogy simulation, has turned out to be a hot point over recent years. It is especially capable of describing parallel, non-coherent or distributed systems, and hence a key tool in the modeling of service process. This paper focuses on the modeling of Multimedia Message Service and how this model is applied to a Multimedia Message Service Center. This paper presents current situation and going-on trends of both the theory and application of Stochastic Petri Net, and comes out with a solution to the modeling of Multimedia Message Service by taking advantage of Stochastic Petri Net package. Based on Stochastic high-level Petri Net and the theorem of its simplification, a model is built for calculation. A detailed discussion of load-balance strategy is proposed considering if there exists two or three levels of priority of queues. The main benefit of this work is its successful application in real situation. The achievement of this work begins to find its use in general WAP service. And most significantly, it promotes the maintenance ability while reducing human work, thus cutting off management cost greatly.
