Research On Virtual Display Design

As one of the driving forces of development in industrial society,the mission of design, at the very beginning, is to reflect the changes of the times and add fuel to the flames.Design can not be separated from the times in which it is. It represents the spirit of an era and indicates the advent of a new era. In the information age,which is characterized by computers and networks,the designers have amazing creativity and imagination,with which can not be compared by those of any previous era. Both the form and content of design are changing. Designers are given new responsibilities by the digital environment. That is to do personalized designs which are more in line with the era and reflect the concern for life.In this new era, the virtual display,which is the latest product of the Exhibition Design,was born. As professionals engaged in the Exhibition Design,we need to understand this new thing,and apply it to our design work in order to help us grasp the pulse of the times. With the rapid development of science and information technology today,the modern virtual display represents the development direction of display mode. It is developing towards the direction of digital,integrated,network-based and intelligent.Due to the late starting of this discipline,there are not many academics study it and only a few works on it. And most of the study are focused on the methods and system of traditional design. Therefore,this paper will target on the Virtual Exhibition Design,recall the history of its development,consider the contemporary status,try to explore the application of various kinds of science and technology in the modern display design,such as CAD technology,digital technology,Multimedia technology, virtual reality technology,demonstrate their dramatic impacts on design,and put forward my own opinion on the future development of virtual display and issues needing to be addressed.The main contents of this article are as follows:In the first part I do research on the academic research background,the theoretical and practical significance,the contemporary status of study both at home and abroad, and the meaning and methods of the study.In the second part,I collect lots of the historical data on the development of the Virtual Display and the Exhibition Design,then analyze them in detail,do some summarizes,as well as introduce the concept of Virtual Exhibition Design and its development history in our country.In the third part,the characteristics of the Virtual Exhibition Design are been explored.In the fourth part I cite several key technologies of the Virtual Exhibition Design and focus on the background,content,and applications of virtual reality technology.In the fifth part,the application of Virtual display in practical life is demonstrated.In the sixth part,based on the previous discussion,I give an outlook of the developing trend of the Virtual Display.Now,the current concept of the Virtual Exhibition Design is in a state of confusion. This reflects that the Virtual Exhibition Design is still in its initial stage of development,and the understanding of its nature and content is not clear enough. The study on the Virtual Exhibition Design is an emerging and immature field,lacking of systematic researches. By discussing the features of the Virtual Exhibition Design under the background of the information age,this paper aims to be helpful to the development of the theory and the practice in this field.
