With the rapid development of the electronics, the diversified embed system products are emergeing in endlessly today, and the embedded systems have been applied to production in all areas of life, and playing an increasingly important role.In the real-time and reliability requirements of the relatively high complex systems, the embedded operating system should be used. VxWroks is a widely used operating system, and it particularly suits to the real-time and reliability requirements that are high in the high-end applications. It provides a comprehensive and efficient development platform. In the use of the actual development, users can also make some device drivers template to develop specific hardware drivers of reference. However, because of different equipment, and an endless stream of new devices, hardware driver development is still not solved the problem, reflected primarily in the driver development and standardization of the development cycle and to meet the design requirements, and so on.This paper based on analysis a great deal of the source code of VxWorks operating system, and it research and analysis the key technologies in the first, include: task management, task communication, such as memory management and the BSP, and then the paper studied and discussed the design method of driver under the VxWorks, setting up a model of driver design, and disscuss the method of character device and block device deeply through the model, and at the last practise the hardware drivers designed methods through specific examples.In the project of practice, it selects the design method and implementation of the device Samsung's K9K8G08U0A FLASH. As a new storage device, it has certain representation in VxWorks system. The specific examples will help solve the driver specific hardware design and integration difficulties.Driver to study the related issues, an essential platform for experiments, this paper will be transplanted to the VxWorks operating system on the experimental platform, including the formation of BSP and configuration, as well as the core image, such as the creation and loading.Also in the paper, the driver test method has been discussed. It studies the feasible test method and the principle of equality, and has studied VxWorks driver test method question.
