With the development of computer science and Internet,the scale of network is growing larger,together with the emergence of more and more network applications.In this pager,I give a new failure diagnosis model based on event correlation,which set failure diagnosis into two phases:failure locating and failure diagnosing.I use the failure relation algorithm in the first phase,and the case based on CBR/MBR in the other,which can reduce the amount of information presented to network operator by filtering out unnecessary or irrelevant events. Simultaneously , the semantic content of the information presented can be increased by the correlation process,hence helping to establish the underlying problem or condition which produced the events. Fault diagnosis is based on the event correlation,graph theory and adjacency matrix are two methods to get the root failure sets.According to the relationship of failures,I give a method to determine the source of failure in this paper,which will perform failure filtration and location function effectively.
