Railway Container Yard Management Information System Based On RFID Middleware

In the current container physical distribution process,informational level is now one restriction of containerized traffic development.The problems existing in present container's transportation and management are cargo burglary;the precision of container recognition is low,and the conflict between the security and the efficiency.Radio Frequency Identification(RFID) is a non-contact auto identification technology,which is wireless identification,quick scanning and strongly anti-jamming. To unify the RFID technology and the present information technology not only can solve the problems on container's transportation and management,but also is a development opportunity for the whole containerized traffic profession.Especially,to employ RFID in the container yard can make the container information visualization, and improve the efficiency and service of the management.However,in order to use RFID in the management of container yard,there are some questions and key technologies we have to solve.This paper at first expresses the background and status of the railway container yard management system based on RFID.Then,pointed out the questions and key technologies in the using of RFID technology on the container yard management.On the base of analyzing the theory and use mode of RFID technology,indicated the container managing scheme adapted to railway system based on the RFID technology. This paper focused on analyzing the problems and key technologies need to solve in the process of achieving informational management with RFID in railway container yard, including the choice and coding tags,the choice and fix location of readers,location of containers in yard,management of access,and data cleaning.After that,we finished the design and achievement of the whole system.The container managing scheme indicated in this paper includes two parts:middleware and application.The middleware in front end of the system,carries out the reader coordination and management function and the RFID data cleaning function.Application at the behind end of the system,use for users' operation.Then,we applied experiment environment to have a successful test on the system.Finally,the work of this paper was summarized and some improved measures and future directions were pointed out.
