Radio frequency identification is a kind of automatic identification technology which has been in rapid development. It has a wide predicted application in logistics and industrial manufacturing. Developing RFID tag package equipments with high performance/price ratio comes to be an important requirement for popularization of RFID. With the high speed developing of the microelectronics, the size of RFID chip becomes smaller and smaller. It is hard to depend on mechanical design to guarantee package precision. Therefore, machine vision aided detecting and locating technology becomes to be the key technology in RFID tag package equipments for its high precision and good reliability, meanwhile it is also a hot research point among academic communities.This thesis discusses the machine vision system design and implementing based the application on RFID tag package equipment, including choosing vision components, optical design, image processing and illumination design and application. It focuses on the optical design,image processing and light for illuminating three essential parts of vision system. In component choosing, based on the need of every module, the right optical components are chose after relative calculating. In optical path designing, after having analyzed the advantages and disadvantages of former vision system of dispense module, proposed a better design which used a reflector. This design avoids several problems which exist in former vision system, such as narrow depth of field, the image not legible enough etc. After analyzing and comparing every optical path designing proposals of mounting module, there is a new design which is more suitable for current occasion. In image processing, after analyzing and discussing every distortion of the image and current calibrate algorithm, there is a simplified algorithm for image rectification. After analyzing the method using in image locating, there is a new algorithm to simplify the image for current occasion. In light designing, different lighting methods are applied for different occasions after summarizing common lighting techniques and fully analyzing the characters of aim objects. With a number of experiments, the quality of image has been improved greatly by a better illuminating angle.
