With popularization of personal video equipment(such as DV,cameras,videophones)and the rapid development of Internet,more and more videos show up on the Internet.Faced with the vast video resource on the internet,how fast and accurate to search and locate videos that we need become a serious problem.That is the target of the video search engine,which we will talk over in this thesis.With the explosive growth of video number,traditional general-purpose search engine appears to be inadequate to search specific areas such as net-videos.Thus,vertical search engine was brought out.Video search engine is one of the vertical search engines.In this thesis,video-info-extraction system which is a subsystem plays an important role in video search engine.The subsystem is an independent function module.The video-info-extraction technology is one of the key technologies in video search engine.The level of video-info-extraction technology is an important technical indicator in video search engine.This thesis first gives a short description of info-extraction technologies,display their advantages and disadvantages,and introduces some applications of those technologies.This thesis has designed and implemented three video-info-extraction methods:two man-template methods(General man-template video-info-extraction method and improved line-located video-info-extraction method)and an automatic template extraction method.As of the low efficiency and tedious work of the man-template method,this thesis presents an automatic method for video-info-template which applies the TOP-DOWN tree-matching algorithm.At the end of this thesis,there introduces the maintenance of the wrapper.
