With the rapid development of the information technology, the Internet and other networks, which transmit information faster than ever, have brought great change to the life of people today. And with the development and maturation of communication technology, embedded technology, distributed information processing technology, and the sensor technology, as well as the emergence of "ubiquitous‖computing model, the wireless sensor network, which combine the properties of modern information domain, has come into being.Wireless sensor network is the network with the characteristics of large-scale, wireless, self-organized, multi-hop, no partition, without infrastructure support. The node within are of same structure, lower cost, small size. Most of the nodes are not mobile and are spreaded freely in the work area, and the network system should work with long time.Wireless sensor networks have their own characteristics: limited node energy, energy-saving requirements, limited computing and storage capacity, with simple and efficient algorithms, data-centric, can fulfill the need of local data integration, and so on. As a result, the development of operating system for the dedicated wireless sensor nodes has now become the topic that is worth studying. Our research work is part of the development of ARTs-SNOS, which is a WSN operating system developed by our own. And the problems of the memory management have been dealt with. The design concepts and ideas of the ARTs-SNOS memory managing module, its infrastructure, and how it is implemented, have been discussed in details.
