This paper design a VoIP (Voice over internet protocol) based on embedded system of SOPC (System On Programmable Chip) technology. SOPC is a new technology of system and integrated in hardware and software design. The system is mainly constituted by Cyclone II FPGA which NiosⅡsoft-core processor embedded in, and audio encode and decode chip. The realization of processing of audio signals is formed by embedded Linux system.The article detailed hardware and software design methods of the VoIP system. CPU of the hardware system is standard NiosⅡsoft-core processor which embedded in Altera's EP2C35 FPGA; Voice processing system module uses audio codec chip which include ADC, DAC Converter of TI Corporation; Peripheral hardware were included memory expansion of the main circuit and the network interface, UART, JTAG UART interface circuit design and so on; In software design, CompletedμClinux transplant in SOPC system, The systems of VoIP use G.723.1 voice compression algorithm for voice compression and reduction, and to optimize and test G.723.1 source code, which enhance the speed of codec G.723.1;In this paper, the design of VoIP systems which based on the SOPC can be achieved voice collecting, play backing, as well as network transmitting functions which based on UDP protocol.
