A Study About The Evaluation Of Public Library Service Network

With the large-scale investment and construction of the Public library service network, the effectiveness of the public library service network becomes a more critical issue. So it is necessary for the Public library service network to evaluate the development trendency. The point of this dissertation is measuring practical performance and influence by evaluation of the Public library service network.In response to these questions, this study evaluates the Public library service network from two angles: on the one hand, evaluating the construction status of public library service network through performance evaluation; on the other hand, evaluating the influence of public library service network through user ratings.The performance evaluation of Public library service network is mainly by the establishment of a scientific performance evaluation index system for the completion of Hangzhou Public library service network performance evaluation, evaluating the status of its construction. The performance evaluation of Hangzhou public library service network mainly consists of two parts: assessment of infrastructure and assessment of service development. The former is used to measure the level and scale of the public library service network, and the later measures the services development provided to users.The influence evaluation of public library services network is primarily carried out via questionnaire survey methods. Delivering questionnaires to users of Hangzhou public library services network, in order to access evaluation of users and measure its influence. It includes four parts of the influence evaluation in Hangzhou: awareness level, participation, satisfaction and expectations for users of the public library service network.Based on above two aspects of evaluation, we have a conclusion: overall, the performance of Hangzhou public library service network construction is not high and its influence is weak. Further more, this study also analyzes the effect factors of service network of public library, amending the performance evaluation system.This thesis uses quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis to assess construction status and influence of Hangzhou Public library service network from theory and practical points, and analyzes its bottlenecks as well. This research is applicable for other regions besides Hangzhou City. Simultaneously, it provides experience for reference in the process of building Public library services network in China.
